Different World

STORY BIRD  The use of storybird would be so helpful in the classroom, because you customize a book online. And you can have it printed out if you want, but you can display it throughout the classroom on the projector or have them each look at it on their own screen.  I like story bird, because you create the story. You create the vocab, and the story. The only thing I didn't like, was the pictures were hard to mesh with my standard that were provided. But its using creativity to make the pictures work for that specific standard. But I really liked this tool, and its easy enough where the students could make their own story. Because they could work on many things, such as using their keyboard skills and typing, and spelling, and being able to understand content and use creative writing to make a story!  UEN STANDARDS Human Development and Relationships Standard 3 The students will understand and respect self and others related to human development an

What I eat helps me

PINTEREST  Pinterest seems to be helpful in all forms of life. I don't even know what brought it about or when it came around. But I know I use it all the time, and I know a lot of people use it all the time. I know for a fact I would use Pinterest as a tool when coming up with lesson plans. For any lesson plan you can find a creative way to change up your lesson plan. Adding a fun element, learning a different way to teach your lesson as well.  I don't know how you would have kids use Pinterest in a lesson plan, but I know as a teacher you can create something so easy and would help you guide a lesson. I can see you letting your kids make a Pinterest as well. Because it is soooo easy to use. And that's why I like to use it. But somethings that aren't helpful with Pinterest is that you'll see a pin you want to use, and look further into, but the link won't work. So that is a con, but then one thing that I do like, is when you do see a pin you like, it t

MATH MADE EASY BY SOCRATIVE

Image
SOCRATIVE  I asked someone who sat next to me what they did for a communicate L3 tool of choice, and they suggested Socrative. And I really liked this tool! She told me it was hard to use, but I really liked figuring out how this would work! I would absolutely use this in the classroom! I really liked how it was so easy to create a math quiz, for my 2nd graders! It gave me the options of what kind of quiz to do, along with what kind of answers. So multiple choice, true or false, and short answer. And giving the options of adding a pictures with your questions. Which was perfect for this topic, because the students have to recognize the shapes of circles, hexagons, etc. So for them to have a visual right there on the screen was so helpful. Other features about this tool are the other options of quizzes you can give.Different forms, and visual quizzes. Such as watching the rocket move across the screen as you progress forward with correct answers. I liked this tool a lot. I kn

Tiki Toki is it living?

Image
TIKI TOKI I made a tiki toki for a 3rd grade science lesson. Which entails how to decide between living and non living organism. But my review of Tiki Toki is that I wouldn't use this. I didn't like how complicated it seemed to be. I had to watch a few tutorial videos to be able to figure out how to work it. And I still don't think I know how to work it very well. I got the hang of it the more I used it.  I liked the overall layout of it, but I don't think I picked a good lesson for Tiki Toki. For example, a good example would be to have a Tiki Toki as a history lesson, showing a timeline. Because thats what I have seen what tiki toki seems to be.  I didn't like this tool, and I wouldn't use it. But it was a good thing for me to try and learn because I had to seek out videos to try and learn how to use it.  I tried to put video links onto the slides, but I don't know how to access them now. I was able to do the pictures, but everything else didn

Jumping & Running for ANIMOTO

Image
ANIMOTO I used Animoto to show different ways for an active lessons. This was an interesting choice on my part, because the kids needs to be active to learn these things! But they could watch and interact with the images and pictures, and then move to an area to be able to do the actions. So they learn by seeing, then they can apply what they learned from what they learned at their own pace through the slideshow video. I chose a difficult topic to use for Animoto. But I think with something science related would work very well. But having the kids learn something like jumping is kind of hard. But it works well. If I were to use this in the classroom, I would do different topics. Its good and quick! Somethings I didn't like about Animoto, were the templates. Even though they are free, I didn't like how there wasn't just a plain one to be able to create your own. Including transitions. You can eventually change them. But just having a clean slate would've been ni
