TWITTER SAFETY

TWITTER  I decided to do a level 3 collaborate tool of choice, and I decided upon Twitter. I used twitter all throughout high school, and loved it, because I was so connected to the world and to my friends, constantly. So with this tool, and the power of the internet, it would be a good way for parents to stay connected to their students on a social media level. Twitter could be used to have daily tweets, updating what was happening in the classroom that day, or even having tweets about what homework is due as well. It would also give the students and opportunity to tweet things themselves. I like twitter and it is a good opening door to have students learn internet safety, and have them involved on a different level. As well it would be easier to keep Twitter updated daily, rather than keep a blog updated weekly for the parents.  The cons of Twitter is that the world is also so involved with it as well, and that there is garbage on it as well, so the cautions of what the studen

Healthy Garden

HEALTHY GARDEN Answer garden is a simple tool to use, because we were able to use it in class, so it was a hands on learning. So then when being able to make one, it was easy to learn how to do it and what the point of it was. But it was somewhat confusing, because it as so easy. The only cons would be the fact that the needs for every student to have access to a computer or iPad, but with the rate of technology, it doesn't seem to be a very big problem.  It would be nice to have this when asking the student of what somethings they want to work on, because you get the whole class to participate, without having that awkwardness of students being scared of what they should say.  ANSWER GARDEN UEN STANDARDS Strand 3 Students will understand the components necessary to maintain a healthy level of fitness to support physical activity. "Weather" I like it..

GOOGLE SLIDES The Power of Google! Google is just wonderful, its free, easy to use, and it always is saving your work! Google slides is definitely a tool I would use, because with slideshows it is very helpful. And I have always liked learning with slideshows. And with this there is a video, pictures, and then context to address all the different types of learners in the classroom. The only trouble I had with this was trying to figure out exactly how to embed it into my slide show. I will use this tool, and I like it for its simplicity. UEN STANDARDS  Students will understand that the elements of weather can be observed, measured, and recorded to make predictions and determine simple weather patterns. ED PUZZLE  Wow I really liked this tool! I thought it was easy, and it helped so much. You find a video, or create your own, then cut and edit it. Which then you can add questions into it. And I think this is a great tool to use, because it is something visual, and the kids can also listen to it, hear the information. Then answer the questions, while watching the video!  I have no cons for this tool, I really liked it, because it was so easy to learn how to use. And it helps different types of learners. I will definitely use this tool in the future! The one thing I couldn't seem to figure out is the "open ended" questions, and so whether or not when taking the test those answers are correct or not, I didn't figure out how to use them. Below is the Edpuzzle, created for 4th graders to learn about the water cycle. UEN STANDARDS Science Benchmark Matter on Earth cycles from one form to another. NEWSLETTER Something so basic, was so difficult for me! I was excited to try and make something, because it seemed so simple. All teachers seem to do it as well, all throughout elementary school we receive newsletters to be able to be in tune with what is happening within the classroom. And they always looked so good! So I tried, but I am so grateful for templates. Because I was getting so frustrated with everything, copying and pasting pictures, creating text boxes, trying to put the document onto the blog! Which has been so frustrating for me! I know I would use newsletters throughout my classroom, because they seem to be essential to help communicate to parents, as well as help keep the students in tune with what is going on that month. The pro's of this tool, I used Word. Which gave me templates to use, but yet I am sure there are better templates on a better tool out there. But I thought I was familiar with word, but not that familiar I guess. I don't have a lot
