Simple Spanish

YOUTUBE
Oh the power of YouTube! I love YouTube. I use it weekly, especially for studying. Understanding topics that aren't that clear to me. There is so much too YouTube! 
I decided to do a language lesson with YouTube. So I picked 6 videos.
I picked Spanish, because I could teach the kids inside the classroom, as well as have them review their learning through YouTube. I am able to speak Spanish to the kids, and we could both understand each other. And apply the learning throughout the classroom time. 
The videos I picked can be taught in class as well, as in home. Or they can use the play list on their iPads.
1. A video of the basic numbers 1-20
2. Learning about the Months.
3. The Days of the Week
4. Simple Food Items
5. The alphabet
6. Simple Greetings 

I like the option of having so many videos. They are short, with upbeat music. So they are intriguing. The kids could memorize the songs easily. 
I could use this within the class room, by having class discussions. We can watch the videos in class. 

One thing I have a problem with YouTube, is you can get off track so easily. There is so many other video suggestions, so you can get off track so easily. As well, there is so much garbage and inappropriate things you could come across. So I don't like YouTube for that fact. I wouldn't want my students to be over exposed to things, as well getting them distracted.

Jumping & Running for ANIMOTO

ANIMOTO I used Animoto to show different ways for an active lessons. This was an interesting choice on my part, because the kids needs to be active to learn these things! But they could watch and interact with the images and pictures, and then move to an area to be able to do the actions. So they learn by seeing, then they can apply what they learned from what they learned at their own pace through the slideshow video. I chose a difficult topic to use for Animoto. But I think with something science related would work very well. But having the kids learn something like jumping is kind of hard. But it works well. If I were to use this in the classroom, I would do different topics. Its good and quick! Somethings I didn't like about Animoto, were the templates. Even though they are free, I didn't like how there wasn't just a plain one to be able to create your own. Including transitions. You can eventually change them. Sports and Activites

NEWSLETTER Something so basic, was so difficult for me! I was excited to try and make something, because it seemed so simple. All teachers seem to do it as well, all throughout elementary school we receive newsletters to be able to be in tune with what is happening within the classroom. And they always looked so good! So I tried, but I am so grateful for templates. Because I was getting so frustrated with everything, copying and pasting pictures, creating text boxes, trying to put the document onto the blog! Which has been so frustrating for me! I know I would use newsletters throughout my classroom, because they seem to be essential to help communicate to parents, as well as help keep the students in tune with what is going on that month. The pro's of this tool, I used Word. Which gave me templates to use, but yet I am sure there are better templates on a better tool out there. SHINING SUN

MIND MAPPING It is so easy done on paper, but then trying to do it on the computer a whole other story! Very interesting, but a useful tool! I decided to use the tool, Popplet . Where it had basic examples shown to you as you went through the learning process, which were very helpful. Basically self explanatory. This tool helps you map out a basic idea, and then further explain it with more bubbles of thoughts, with pictures, and short definitions. So you aren't overloaded with words! It lays it on the paper as you want in the order you want as well. The things I liked about the tool: 1. You can change the color of the boxes. - I put my definition words in the red boxes, so that would let the student be more aware of what they need to remember. -I also had the same color for the same subjects. 2.
